Resumen de Job Insertion: The Perspective of People with Disabilities and Their Relatives About an Inclusion Program

Andressa de Oliveira Fante Teixeira, Vanessa Rissi

  • Starting from the assumptions regarding the central role played by work in human lives and that the access of people with disabilities to the labor market is a civil right, this research aims to investigate the perceptions of the people with disabilities (PwDs) and their relatives regarding work, in relation to an inclusion program, in which the PwDs are inserted. e program is tutored by a metallurgic industry located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. is is a qualitative research, with an exploratory nature. Twenty two people were interviewed, being twelve PwDs, and, also, their mothers or fathers, equiv- alent to 10 subjects, in distinct moments. e interviews, recorded and fully transcribed, underwent content analysis, from Bardin (2009) generating four thematic mixed categories: 1) previous work rela- tions; 2) perception about receiving continued bene t payment and the salary; 3) sentiments regarding the insertion in the inclusion program and 4) potentialities of the son/daughter with disabilities. Con- cerning the nal considerations, it is understood that the work is a factor that leads to positive feelings for PwD, whilst it generates insecurities to the parents and guardians. e Continued Bene t Payment has proved to be an obstacle for job insertion, due to the lack of knowledge concerning the regulation.
