En este artículo se exponen los primeros resultados de una investigación mucho más amplia en torno a la recepción de la vida y de la obra de F. M. Dostoievski en España. En primer lugar, se muestran las vías por las cuales la literatura rusa y, en concreto, Dostoievski penetra por vez primera en España para trazar a continuación una breve historia de las distintas traducciones de su obra al español. Finalmente, se ofrece una visión general de su recepción en algunos escritores claves del siglo XX (Miguel de Unamuno y Pío Baroja) y se expone el estado actual de los estudios dostoievskianos en nuestro país.

This article presents the preliminary results of a broader piece of research on the reception of F. M. Dostoevsky’s life and work in Spain. In order to understand how Dostoevsky was translated and read in Spanish society, I will examine, first of all, when and how the name “Dostoevsky” began to be popular among Spanish readers and when the first translations were published. Secondly, I will show what kind of image of the Russian writer was formed in Spanish intellectual circles and how they were influenced by him (especially Miguel de Unamuno and Pío Baroja). Finally, I will set out the main areas of Dostoevsky research in Spain.
