    Las investigaciones que se han hecho sobre Heródoto y su Historia son muchas y han abordado distintas perspectivas, por ejemplo el vínculo de Heródoto con los estudios geográficos o etnográficos; del mismo modo se ha analizado su obra a partir de distintas divisiones de su escrito que pretenden enfatizar los aspectos teóricos y prácticos de su indagación. En el siguiente artículo se presentará un análisis de tres dimensiones culturales (sociabilidad, religiosidad y muerte) que Heródoto trata en sus tres primeros libros. Esto con el fin de demostrar que el mismo Heródoto es el que inicia la tradición historiográfica que se hace cargo de los estudios culturales, a partir de la descripción e investigación sobre los distintos pueblos que habitaban la tierra (oícumene) en el siglo V a.C.

    The researchs of Herodotus that have been done on his History are several and have approached different perspectives, for example, the link with Herodotus and the geographical or ethnographic studies; in the same way, his work has been analyzed from different parts of his writing, that try to emphasize the theoretical and practical characteristics of his investigation. In the following article I will present an analysis of three cultural aspects (sociability, religiousness and the death) that Herodotus has developed in his first three books, in order to demonstrate that he was the first man in start the tradition of historiography, that takes charge of the cultural studies from the description and research of the different people who were living on earth (oícumene) in the 5th century B.C.
