La radiología digital está avanzando, de forma que hoy en día se puede equiparar en capacidad diagnóstica a la radiología convencional, ya que la resolución y la capacidad de manipulación de las imágenes mejoran la interpretación por parte del profesional, eliminando el procesado de las películas y disminuyendo las dosis sobre los pacientes.

Digital radiology is evolving in such a way that nowadays is comparable in diagnostic capabilities to conventional radiology. This is so because the improved resolution of the digital images and the ability to manipulate them allow the professional a better interpretation of the results. In addition, the dose absorbed by the patient is reduced as compared to the traditional method and the cumber some process of film's development is eliminated.
