  • Resumen
    • Television has been transformed by many technical changes since its creation and digital television is now growing, driven by the aim of improving the quality of broadcasts (higher quality of picture and sound) and releasing valuable spectrum for other services and bidders. Slovakia's dominant television services the commercial operators Markza (CME) and JOJ (J&T Media Enterprises) and the public service television STV (Slovak Television) have set one major condition to agree to follow the national technical switchover plan to be able to launch additional channels. Slovak digital law, which was in preparation for more than three years, guarantees licences for single-theme channels for these current broadcasters. The objective of this article is to show how the process of digitalization in Slovakia runs, including the obstacles encountered.
