  • This article describes the technical constraints and regulatory challenges presented by the wish to introduce terrestrial high-definition broadcasting in the UK, and the innovative solutions that were devised and implemented ahead of a successful launch in early 2010, in which the pioneering use of the recently devised Digital Video Broadcasting-T2 standard played a key enabling role.
