  • There are two NW-SE dextraI strike-sIip fauIt systems in NW GaIicia (NW Spain). Syntectonic infills of the asociated basins show that the fault activity was mainIy alpine in age. The As Pontes basin is located within the northern strike-slip fault system, asociated to a double restraining-bend geometry of NW-SE master dextral strike-slip fault. Results of paleostress analysis carried out near As Pontes basin, and their relationships with the structure which generate the basin are presented.
