Se exponen los principales resultados obtenidos en la investigación efectuada con el fin de caracterizar las fuentes contaminantes de la cuenca del río Naranjo y su impacto en la calidad del agua. Para alcanzar este objetivo se realizó un diagnóstico que incluye la revisión bibliográfica referente al tema así como la realización de talleres participativos. Además se tomaron como base los resultados de análisis físico químico y microbiológico de fuentes de abasto cercanas a los focos contaminantes. Como resultado se identificaron siete focos contaminantes puntales dentro de la cuenca, los que afectan la calidad del agua alterando sus propiedades físico- químicas y bacteriológicas.

The main results are exposed obtained in the investigation with the purpose of characterizing the polluting sources located in the basin of the river Orange tree and their impact in the quality of the water. to reach this objective he/she was carried out a diagnosis that includes the revision of the bibliography with respect to the topic as well as the realization of shops participate. They also took like base the results of chemical physical analysis of near supply sources to the polluting focuses. As a result seven focuses polluting props were identified inside the basin, those that affect the quality of the water altering their properties physique – chemical and bacteriological.
