  • Resumen
    • This article analyzes texts produced in and around the agrarian movement in Veracruz order to reflect on the impact of violence on the formation and transformation of campesino identities and the collective memory of this struggle, decisive in the history of the region. Beginning with accounts produced during the 1920s within the Liga de Comunidades Agrarias del Estado de Veracruz, the article examines a selection of participant testimonies as well as the literary interpretation presented in Francisco Salmerón’s 1960 Testimonios del Tecuán. It concludes with reflections on violence as a factor in the historical construction of the agrarista experience.
