  • In this article, the author comments on studies by Thomas Donaldson on the importance of business ethics. Topics discussed include normative theories of the purpose of the corporation such as social contract theory and stakeholder theory; responsibility in the financial services industry ; epistemology in economic interpretations of business; responsibilities of firms operating across international borders; the book "The Ties That Bind" by Tom Dunfee which illustrates social contract, and contribution to business decision-making.
