Abram Beiskie (1907-1988) was a British-American medical illustrator, Sculptor, and medalist. The medal shown above is among a collection of medals cast in both bronze and silver in the early I970s, in what Beiskie referred to as the Presidential Art Medical Series. It depicts Ambroise Paré (1510-1590), and is captioned "Father of Modern Surgery." The tail side reads "I dressed him and God healed him." The piece is I 3/4 incles (44.0mm), bronze.
