    Este artículo presenta una serie de críticas sobre el edificio del Museo del Prado aparecidas en la prensa periódica española entre 1789 y 1815. Su excepcionalidad reside en que fueron escritas por arquitectos, incluso una de ellas puede atribuirse a Juan de Villanueva o a su más cercano círculo. El análisis de estos textos nos permitirá ahondar en las intenciones que movieron a los responsables del Museo del Prado y en las esperanzas que despertó entre sus contemporáneos un edificio destinado, entre otros objetivos, a restaurar la arquitectura en España.

    This article presents some criticisms on the building of Museo del Prado that appear in Spanish press between 1789 and 1815. The particularity of these writings resides in the fact that they were written by the architects themselves. Even one of these writings could have been written by Juan de Villanueva or someone close to him. By analising these texts, we will go in depth into the purpose of the responsibles of the Museo del Prado and it will also allow us to know the great hopes that the building aroused in its contemporanies.
