    El artículo toma como punto de partida un ensayo sobre la amistad civil de Pedro Cerezo Galán para demostrar la relevancia ética y política de la amistad. Cerezo arroja nueva luz sobre lo que podríamos llamar una ética de la amistad que se remonta a la antigua filosofía griega. Basándose en textos de Platón y Aristóteles, el artículo hace una reflexión crítica sobre los conceptos de éthos y de amistad en relación con las interpretaciones de Cerezo y de Hannah Arendt, lo cual abre una nueva perspectiva a la amistad como un camino hacia el auto-conocimiento.

    The article takes as its starting point an essay on civil friendship by Pedro Cerezo Galán in order to show the ethical and political relevance of friendship. Cerezo sheds new light on what could be called an ethics of friendship which goes back to ancient Greek philosophy. Drawing on Plato and Aristotle, the article discusses critically the concepts of ethos and of friendship in relation to the interpretations of Cerezo and of Hannah Arendt and opens a new perspective on friendship as a way to self-knowledge.
