The article discusses the assessment on the progress of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), an intitiative conducted by the independent states organization United Nations (UN) which focused on international attention. Information on the socioeconomic barriers and goals in the MSGs development is provided. Among the barriers are exclusion of women and ethnic minorities, discrimination against poor population, and gender discrimination in education.
