This article deals with the studio-museum of the painter Josep Tapiró (Reus, 1836– Tangier, 1913) in the city of Tangiers, where he lived and worked for almost forty years. It tells about its history, as well as the building that housed his works. It also explores the fate of the studio-museum after the death of the artist and his wife, and how it became the Benitah Museum, which opened to the public in the year of the International Statute. Finally, a general description of the art collection housed in the museum and its decay and dispersion in the 1960s is provided.

L’article versa sobre l’estudi museu del pintor Josep Tapiró (Reus, 1836 – Tànger, 1913) a la ciutat de Tànger, on va viure i treballar durant quasi quaranta anys. S’hi explica la seva història, com era l’edifici i els objectes que allotjava. També es refereix al seu destí després de la mort de l’artista i de la seva muller, com es convertí en el museu Benitah, obert al públic durant els anys de l’Estatut Internacional. Finalment, s’hi detalla l’existència que tingué aquest museu, la seva decadència i dispersió als anys seixanta de la passada centúria. Tanmateix, s’hi descriu, de forma general, el fons artístic que contenia.
