The “digital turning-point” triggered a partial but significant reconfiguration of sociability patterns and contributed to new ways of “doing things” collectively that have generally tended to move away from the model of communities shaped by a common sense of destiny, identity or belonging. The extension of the sphere of doing to technological fields is assumed here to bring a “chain of equivalences” into being, which links up fragments of involvement and subjectivity that do not necessarily require any prior agreement in order to function, except as regards the action aimed at. In other words, the increasing hold of information and communication technologies appears to be producing a more pragmatic and opportunistic tendency in collective action.

Le « tournant numérique » (digital turn) a conduit à une reconfiguration partielle mais conséquente des sociabilités et a contribué au renouvellement des manières de faire collectif, tendanciellement plus éloignées du modèle de la communauté de destin, d’identité ou d’appartenance. Cette extension du domaine du faire vers le « technologique » est supposée permettre la création de « chaînes d’équivalences » constituées de fragments d’engagement et de subjectivités dont la mise au travail ne nécessiterait pas forcément d’accord préparatoire, si ce n’est quant à l’action à mener. Autrement dit, la présence accrue des technologies d’information et de communication conduirait à ce que se développe un pente plus pragmatique et plus opportuniste de l’action collective.
