Variousgeopolitical currents highlight the prominence of CentralAsia under the geostrategic and global economy. Authorssuch as H. Mackinder or Z. The centralargument is that this is a region of major importance inthe current economic arena as a result of its strategicposition as a link between East and West, a space ofcompetition and reinforcement of the great powers. Byrevisiting history and through a literature review, thispaper aims to contribute to increase knowledge about aremote region of the world, but of utmost importance in the geopolitical and economic context of today.
