Resumen de Employment of Supplemental RNs Doesn't Affect Patient Satisfaction

Karen Rosenberg

  • According to this study:

    * Hospitals’ use of supplemental RNs does not adversely affect overall patient satisfaction with care and is an acceptable way of ensuring that adequate nurse staffing is available at all times.

    * On two composite measures of patient satisfaction—discharge information and responsiveness of staff—each 10-point increase in the proportion of supplemental RNs was associated with a decrease in favorable ratings.
