El leiomioma es un tumor benigno compuesto mayoritariamente por células de músculo liso. Generalmente es asintomático y puede asentar en cualquier región del organismo, siendo la localización más frecuente el útero. En el tubo digestivo estos tumores son más frecuentes en el estómago y son hallazgos muy raros en el esófago e intestino grueso.
Leiomyoma is a benign tumor composed mainly of smooth muscle cells. It is usually asymptomatic and can settle in any part of the body, the most common location being the uterus. In the digestive tract, these tumors are more common in the stomach and are found in extremely rare cases in the esophagus and large bowel.
