    El presente texto plantea un análisis y una reflexión de conjunto sobre los cambios producidos en España, en estos últimos cuarenta años, en las relaciones y identidades de género, los modelos hegemónicos de feminidad y de masculinidad. También se analiza su relación con el desarrollo de pro-puestas igualitarias y feministas entre la transición a la democracia y la sociedad actual. Y finalmente, se reflexiona sobre las continuidades, y los aspectos pendientes o inacabados en este proceso. Geoff Eley ha llamado la atención sobre la necesidad metodológica de la perspectiva de género y feminista para interpretar la historia contemporánea en general, así como también la historia de la izquierda. Cabría añadir que también, igualmente, para interpretar la historia de la democracia y de la ciudadanía.El estudio de las identidades y relaciones de género, y su relación con la evolución histórica de la ciudadanía femenina –o la relación entre ciudadanía, feminismos, igualdad y democracia- se ha convertido en los últimos años en un tema fundamental en la historiografía sobre historia del género, pero también sobre historia política, historia social y nueva historia cultural. Desde estas perspectivas interpretativas, se propone una reflexión crítica sobre el alcance de dichos cambios y sus límites, con relación al significado de las transiciones políticas, los movimientos sociales y las identidades colectivas, y entre ellas, las identidades de género.

    This text outlines an analysis and reflection as a whole about the changes occurred in Spain in the last forty years in relationships and gender identities, in the hegemonic models of femininity and masculinity. Its connection to the development of equality and feminist policies between the tran-sition to democracy and the current society is also analysed in the text. Finally, there is a reflection on the continuations and the unfinished aspects of this process. Geoff Eley has brought attention about the need for a methodology when interpreting contemporary and left-wing history from the gender and feminist perspective. And moreover, to also be able to interpret the history of democracy and citizenry.The study of gender and relationship identities and its relation with the historical evolution of the feminine citizenry (or the relationship between citizenry, feminisms, equality and democracy) has become in the past few years in a fundamental subject not only in gender history but also in political, social and cultural history. From this point of view, a critical reflection about the effect of these changes and their limitations is proposed in relation to its significance in political transitions, social movements and collective identities including gender identities.
