Entre 1912 y 1915, la familia San Miguel Ovejero realizó en la ciudad de Buenos Aires una inversión inmobiliaria que conmemoraría su nombre y a la provincia de Salta: la Galería General Güemes. Con sus 77 metros de altura, este rascacielos no sólo operó como una manera de diversificar el capital acumulado, sino que permitió, a través de la arquitectura, materializar en la Capital de la Nación el poder de sus propietarios. El presente artículo se centra en la construcción de este edificio analizando tanto su arquitectura como las negociaciones y manejos que fueron necesarios para su ejecución

Between 1912 and 1915, the San Miguel Ovejero family made in the city of Buenos Aires a real estate investment that would commemorate their name and the province of Salta: The Galería General Güemes. With its 77 meters high, this skyscraper not only operated as a way to diversify the accumulated capital, but allowed to materialize through architecture the power of their owners in the Capital of the Nation. This article focuses on the construction of this building analyzing both, its architecture and the maneuvers and negotiations that were necessary for its execution
