    • The total revenue generated by this year's Top 50 rose by 4 per cent from $26.164bn to $27.210bn. Over the past three years the increase is 12 per cent, with the most significant jump coming between the $24.335bn generated in 2012 and the $26.164bn in 2013.

      The total number of lawyers that generated that revenue stood at 30,047, up by 1 per cent on 2013, while the number of partners was 9,433, a 3 per cent rise on last year.

      Included in the $27.21bn total is a record number of $1bn+ litigation practices.

      Five firms posted a disputes turnover in excess of $1bn this year compared to three in 2014. They include the world's largest litigation boutique, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, which saw a rise of 13 per cent from $953m to $1,081.4m. DLA Piper, last year's number one with a total disputes revenue of $1.128bn, falls to fifth place in this year's table with an 11 per cent decrease to $1.009bn while Skadden, third place in 2014, rises one place to second with a revenue of $1.088bn, up 4 per cent on 2013's $1.050bn
