    Este artículo examina la relación entre la Iglesia y el Estado en la Escocia contemporánea, examinándose como se desarrolla la estructura legal y si el marco legal sigue siendo apropiado y/o beneficioso en el mundo moderno. Se centra en el tema de la lucha de la Iglesia de Escocia para mantener su independencia de la autoridad civil, al tiempo que funciona como una Iglesia nacional, y considera el legado de este aspecto en las relaciones de la Iglesia/Estado en Escocia.

    This article explores the relationship between Church and State in contemporary Scotland, examining how the legal structure developed and asking whether the framework which has evolved remains appropriate and/or beneficial in the modern world. It focuses on the theme of the Church of Scotland's struggle to maintain its independence from civil authority, whilst functioning as a national church, and considers the legacy of this aspect of Church/State relations in Scotland.
