Tras 55 años de funcionamiento, la presa de Alarcón, una presa de gravedad, de hormigón, situada en el río Júcar en la provincia de Cuenca ( España) , presentaba evidentes síntomas de envejecimiento. El riesgo tan elevado que suponía el posible fallo obligó a una urgente actuación y adecuación de la estructura al completo, manteniendo sus funciones de explotación en todo momento. A nivel mundial existe una creciente necesidad de realizar actuaciones como la que a continuación se describen. Siendo esta, una aportación más al estado del Arte en este tipo de intervenciones, donde Construcciones Alpi,S.A. con su larga experiencia en el mundo de las infraestructuras hidráulicas ha desarrollado e implantado tecnologías novedosas, nunca antes aplicadas, en el campo de la Rehabilitación de Presas.

After operating for 55 years, the Alarcón Dam, a concrete gravity dam set on the River Jucar in the province of Cuenca (Spain), showed evident signs of ageing, particularly with regards to the state of the concrete. The very high risk implied by the possible failure of the dam demanded urgent action and the complete modification of the structure, while continuing to remain in operation at all times. There is a growing need to perform actions such as those described in this article on an international scale. The work seen here serves as yet a further contribution to the state-of-the-art in these types of interventions and where Construcciones Alpi, S.A., with their wide-ranging international experience in the world of dams and reservoirs, have developed and introduced new technologies that have never been applied before to dam refurbishment projects.
