The new law of 28 of april 2014, no. 67, introduced the trial in the absence of the accused. La novella 28 aprile 2014, n. 67, ha introdotto il giudizio in absentia. Per essa si pone il tema della sua applicazione, secondo le regole della successione delle leggi nel tempo. Si deve ritenere che il nuovo regime non concerne i processi che, al momento della sua entrata in vigore, siano in corso e nei quali l'imputato sia stato già dichiarato contumacenon irreperibile, posto che negli stessi continuano ad osservarsi le disposizioni previgenti. Va ritenuta con effetto retroattivo la disciplina intertemporale della legge 11 agosto 2014, n. 118, a far data dall'efficacia della novella.
