    El artículo es una aproximación a la creación del libro en Roma en el periodo clásico, entre el siglo I a.C y el siglo II d.C. Se siguen los pasos del libro con una introducción a formato y soporte, publicación del libro, estudiando la figura del editor y los copistas y finalmente tratando la difusión del libro acercándose a la profesión del librero y las librerías. El objetivo del artículo es propiciar un acercamiento a la historia del libro en ese periodo concreto del mundo antiguo.

    This article is an approximation of the creation of the book in Rome during the classical period, between the 1st century BC and the 2nd century AD. The steps in the development of the book are described, with an introduction to format and medium and book publishing. Finally, distribution of the book is dealt with, as is the profession of bookseller and bookstores. The objective of the article is to promote an approach to the history of the book during this specific period in the ancient world.
