Restauración de un tejido copto en el Centre de Documentació i Museu Tèxtil de Terrassa

    El presente artículo describe los trabajos realizados por la restauradora Almudena Casado Bernal en sus prácticas como primera beneficiaria del convenio entre la Escuela de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales y el Centre de Documentació i Museu Tèxtil de Terrassa. Dicho acuerdo permite que un alumno ya licenciado disfrute de unas prácticas formativas en restauración textil sobre obra real perteneciente a los fondos del museo. La pieza restaurada es un tejido copto datado entre los siglos V y VI d.C. perteneciente a la colección Biosca del CDMT. Los tratamientos se inician con el análisis de las fibras textiles y continúan con todos los tratamientos de restauración realizados sobre el tejido copto (desmontaje, limpieza, reintegración, consolidación y montaje expositivo), hasta llegar a un resultado que permitiese su correcto almacenaje y futura exposición.

    This article describes work done by the restorer Almudena Casado Bernal on her work experience as the first beneficiary of an agreement between the Escuela de Conservación Restauración de Bienes Culturales in Madrid and the Centre de Documentació i Museu Tèxtil in Terrassa. This agreement allows a student who has already graduated to benefit from hands on work experience in textile restoration on a real project belonging to the museum’s collection. The restored piece is a Coptic textile dating back to between the 5th and 6th centuries AD, which belongs to the Biosca collection of the Centre de Documentació i Museu Tèxtil. The procedure begins with the analysis of the textile’s fibers and continues with all restorative procedures performed on the Coptic textile (stripping down, cleaning, reintegration, strengthening and setting up the exhibition), until a satisfactory result is achieved which allows for correct storage and future exhibition.
