Informação turística electrónica aplicada à Rota Histórica das Linhas de Torres

    | Considering the behaviour of tourists while autonomous consumers of unique tourist experiences, we proceeded to the planning of cultural and landscape tourings in the Historical Route of the Lines of Torres (HRLT) which consist on itineraries and circuits, whose enjoyment is based on walking or motorized trails. Then, an electronic tourist information system was conceived and applied to the Route, which was supported by a WebGIS and Mobile Electronic Tourist Guide (METG).

    As a reflection of the research that has been developed, we approach the following concepts: i) electronic tourist information, through the analysis of technological evolution provided by the Information and Communication Technologies (ITC) and the results of national and international benchmarking projects on WebGIS and GTEM ii) tourism experience in the perspective of the Experience of Economy; iii) cultural and landscape tourings, considering the characterization of the market and its potential in the region.

    Finally, we analyse the WebGIS platform, conceived in the ArcGIS Server program and in the Application Programming Interface (API)ArcGIS Viewer for Flex, and the GTEM,supported by the MobileTrails application,which includes tourist information on PDA/Smartphone devices with GPS, whose operationalizations make use of Geographic Information Systems.

    | Considerando o comportamento dos turistas, enquanto consumidores autónomos de experiências turísticas singulares, procedeu-se ao planeamento de tourings culturais e paisagísticos na Rota Histórica dasLinhas de Torres (RHLT), constituídos por itinerários e circuitos, cuja fruição assenta em percursos pedestres ou motorizados. Posteriormente, concebeu-se e aplicou-se à Rota um sistema de informação turística electrónica,suportado num WebGIS e num Guia Turístico Electrónico Móvel (GTEM).

    Refletindo a investigação que tem vindo a ser desenvolvida, abordam-se os seguintes conceitos: i) informação turística electrónica, através da análise da evolução tecnológica proporcionada pelas Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC) e dos resultados do benchmarking nacional e internacional sobre projetos WebGIS e GTEM; ii) experiência turística, na perspetiva da Economia da Experiência; iii) touring cultural e paisagístico, considerando a caracterização do mercado e suas potencialidades na Região.

    Por fim, analisa-se a plataforma WebGIS, concebida no programa ArcGIS Server e na Application Programming Interface (API) ArcGIS Viewer for Flex, e o GTEM, sustentado na aplicação MobileTrails, que integra informação turística em dispositivos PDA/Smartphone com GPS, cujas operacionalizações recorreram aos Sistemas de Informação Geográfica (SIG).
