    This paper summarizes the state of the art for the study of women producers in the Portuguese and Brazilian field of letters for the 18th century. As conclusions of this preliminary study, we will bring the main hypothesis for a study of the topic, assuming the theoretical background we propose here.With this goal, and grounded in previous analysis of the production conditions for the specific Portuguese case, which have shown the relevance of the participation of women in the field of letters as well as how their study brings questions affecting the study of the field as a whole, we will explore the current state of the research field regarding our study object, as well as the formulation of the hypothesis for an ongoing research. Besides the interest inherent to the study of the women's production, being an area scarcely explored in the field of the cultural production, it is our hypothesis that the results of this project will be useful for the study of the articulation of the field/s in 18th centuty Brazil and Portugal, the women's networks, the networks of agents of the Enlightenment - both men and women-, the connections between Brazil and Portugal, and the elaboration of the literary historiography.

    O presente trabalho pretende sintetizar o estado da questão para o estudo das mulheres produtoras no campo das letras em Portugal e no Brasil no século XVIII, apresentando a modo de conclusões as hipóteses para uma pesquisa sobre este tópico a partir dos pressupostos teóricos aqui propostos. Com este objetivo, e baseando-nos em análises prévias das condições de produção no caso português, que mostraram a relevância da participação das mulheres no campo das letras, assim como o fato de o seu estudo levantar questões que afetam de forma considerável a potencial análise do campo no seu conjunto, abordamos aqui o levantamento do estado atual da pesquisa relativa ao objeto de estudo proposto, assim como a formulação das hipóteses para a continuaçáo da pesquisa. Além do inerente interesse do estudo da produção feminina, por ser uma área ainda pouco explorada dentro do campo da produção cultural, é a nossa hipótese que os resultados obtidos neste projetos seráo aplicáveis ao estudo articulação do/s campo/s no Brasil e em Portugal no período em foco, às redes de relacionamento entre mulheres e entre agentes - homens ou mulheres - da Ilustração, às conexões entre Brasil e Portugal, e à elaboração da historiografia literária.
