Resumen de Adquisición del género gramatical del español por cuatro hablantes de swahili

En este trabajo se analiza la presencia del género gramatical en la interlengua española (ver nota 1) de cuatro hablantes de swahili. En swahili, como en otras lenguas bantúes, los sustantivos se clasifican en nueve clases nominales. Las diferentes clases nominales están marcadas por un prefijo, tienen una forma diferente para el singular y el plural. El determinante, el adjetivo y el verbo deben concordar con esa clase mediante el uso de prefijos (Wilson 1985, Mohammed 2001). Carsten (1991, 2008) analiza estas clases nominales gramaticales como géneros. Nuestro objetivo es investigar cómo estos cuatro estudiantes adquieren el género del español, observando si a pesar de que su primera lengua cuenta con un sistema de género gramatical, este sistema es morfológicamente tan diferente del de la lengua meta (español) que no afecta a la adquisición de su género gramatical.

This paper analyzes the presence of Spanish gender in the Interlanguage of four Swahili speakers. In Swahili, as in other Bantu languages, nouns are categorized into different classes. The different noun classes are marked by a prefix, have a different form for the singular and the plural, and the determinant, the adjective and the verb have to agree with that class through the use of prefixes (Wilson 1985, Mohammed 2001). Carsten (1991, 2008) analyzes these grammatical noun classes as genders. Our goal is to investigate how these learners acquire the Spanish gender, observing if despite our learners' first language has a grammatical gender system, this system is morphologically so different from that of the second language (L2) that it does not affect the acquisition of the L2 grammatical gender.
