A laboratory experiment on single crystal X-ray diffraction has been developed and implemented in an inorganic chemistry course for undergraduate students via Internet-facilitated remote diffractometer control. The experiment was carried out from a remote location, a computer lab at Muskingum College, with the X-ray diffractometer being housed at Youngstown State University. In this experiment, the structure of (η6-p-fluoroaniline)chromium(tricarbonyl) was determined as a representative example.
