Resumen de Comunidades eclesiais de base e a luta por moradia: Educação e participação política em contexto de precarização

This article aims to analyze the formation of collective actions of resistance and protest, in the Brazilian city of São Luís, during the 1980s. The analysis is based on an investigation about the Base ecclesial Communities [Comunidades Eclesiais de Base ] and its educational practices. To do so, it was necessary to identify elements that affect the emergence and dynamics of contestatory movements. It was observed that education constituted a key element in the formation of the movement, through which different types of strategic knowledge and political skills were taught and shared. The research drew upon an interdisciplinary literature on social movement and collective action, interviews and archival sources such as newspapers and pamphlets.

O presente texto visa refletir sobre a formação das ações de reivindicação e resistência, em São Luís durante a década de 1980, a partir da inserção das Comunidades eclesiais de Base e de seus processos educativos. Para tanto, buscou-se identificar elementos capazes de explicar a estruturação e emergência de movimentos sociais de reivindicação. Verificou-se que a educação caracteriza-se enquanto elemento importante, no qual eram sociabilizados diferentes tipos de conhecimento utilizados na reivindicação por moradia. A pesquisa apoiou-se em um referencial teórico interdisciplinar e em fontes compostas por jornais da época, panfletos e entrevistas.
