The objective of this paper is to analyse the influence of firms’ internal organisational structures and different ways of mobilising external resources on their eco-innovative intensity and observe whether, at the firm level, these determinants vary according to sectoral conditions. Using the French CIS 2008 survey, the results reveal that, beyond the classic effect of regulatory pressure, firms’ eco-innovation intensity is structured by the firm's internal characteristics, technological opportunities and sectoral conditions
