    Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el potencial del turismo cultural en el desarrollo regional.

    Después de revisar la literatura se propone llevar a cabo un análisis del turismo cultural para discutir y establecer el mercado objetivo potencial en la región. El uso de un enfoque de análisis normativo es un valioso marco para el diseño de herramientas para la planificación y operación del desarrollo sostenible turismo cultural y patrimonial. El modelo normativo resulta ser útil para las estrategias de desarrollo. Las limitaciones se derivan fundamentalmente de la disponibilidad de datos en una región donde no ha habido ninguna estrategia sistemática anterior para desarrollar un turismo sostenible y patrimonio cultural. La investigación proporciona las premisas de planificación de las estrategias de desarrollo económico regionales centradas en los recursos disponibles y las capacidades para explotar un turismo sostenible y patrimonio cultural. Tiene un impacto positivo en el desarrollo de infraestructura, la creación de oportunidades para atraer a los inversores extranjeros y los organismos de financiación, diseño e implementación de estrategias de marketing y de promoción y oferta de productos y servicios diversificados en el mercado del turismo cultural. La investigación tiene implicaciones socio-espaciales en el desarrollo de las capacidades empresariales de la comunidad, la creación de empleo y la mejora de mejores niveles de vida para el pueblo. No ha habido ninguna investigación previa que contribuye a aumentar el desarrollo económico regional. Se proporciona un marco y herramientas valiosas para el desarrollo económico regional.

    This study aims to analyze the potential of cultural tourism in regional development. After reviewing the literature it is proposed to conduct an analysis of cultural tourism to discuss and establish the potential target market. The use of a normative analysis approach is a valuable framework to design tools for planning and operation of sustainable cultural and heritage tourism. The normative model proves to be useful for development strategies. The limitations are derived basically from the availability of data in a region where has not been any previous systematic strategy to develop sustainable cultural and heritage tourism.

    The research provides the planning premises of the economic regional development strategies centered on the available resources and capabilities to exploit a sustainable cultural and heritage tourism. It has positive impacts on developing infrastructure, creating opportunities to attract foreign investors and funding agencies, designing and implementing marketing and promotional strategies and offering diversified products and services in the cultural tourism market. The research has social-spatial implications on development of entrepreneurial skills of the community, creating employment and improving better standards of life for the people. There has not been any previous research contributing to increase regional economic development. It provides a valuable frameworks and tools for regional economic development.
