  Forum UNESCO � Universidad y Patrimonio ha organizado Seminarios Internacionales desde 1996. La edición XII de estos seminarios se celebró en Hanoi, Vietman en 2009 y el tema del 12º Seminario Internacional de Forum UNESCO-Universidad y Patrimonio (FUUP), fue �Paisajes Urbanos Históricos ¿Un nuevo concepto? ¿Una nueva categoría de sitios del Patrimonio Mundial?�. La temática elegida fue considerada como ambiciosa y crucial para el futuro de la conservación del Patrimonio, así como para el desarrollo de comunidades, ciudades y la sociedad civil en general.

  El Concepto de Paisaje Urbano Histórico (PUH) aborda desde el contexto paisajístico y territorial más amplio, hasta los centros o conjuntos históricos. Esto refleja la configuración de una sociedad moderna y, consecuentemente, resulta ser de gran valor para la comprensión de nuestra actual forma de vida.

  Es crucial entender el paisaje urbano histórico antes de llevar a cabo cualquier proyecto arquitectónico contemporáneo.

  Forum UNESCO � University and Heritage has organized International Seminars since 1996. 12th edition of those Seminars was held in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2009. The theme of the 12th International Seminar of Forum UNESCO � University and Heritage (FUUH) was �Paisajes Urbanos Históricos ¿Un nuevo concepto? ¿Una nueva categoría de sitios del Patrimonio Mundial?�. This theme was considered both ambitious and crucial to the future of heritage conservation as well as to the development of communities, cities and civil society.

  The Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) Concept includes the broader territorial and landscape context and therefore goes far beyond historic centres. It reflects the shape of a modern society and consequently proves to be of great value for the understanding of our current way of life.

  It is crucial to understand the historic urban landscape before undertaking any contemporary architectural project.
