    Este artículo analiza cómo se ha llevado a cabo una intervención grupal, que tenía como principal objetivo concienciar a los progenitores jóvenes de etnia gitana de determinados barrios de San Blas-Canillejas sobre la importancia de la educación como vía para la integración de sus hijos. Los resultados conseguidos han superado las expectativas de partida, fundamentalmente en lo que el proyecto ha aportado a los propios usuarios, protagonistas del proyecto, a los trabajadores sociales de zona en particular y a la Atención Social Primaria del distrito en general.

    This paper analyses a group intervention project carried out among young parents of Roma ethnicity in the San Blas-Canillejas district of Madrid. The project’s main objective was to raise awareness about the importance of education as a means to improve the social integration of the target population’s children. The results exceeded initial expectations, in terms of what the project contributed to the target population, and also what it taught the social workers involved in the project and the primary social care services in the district.
