    la cruz es uno de los emblemas, signos o símbolos más antiguos del lenguaje escriturario. Éste encierra distintas interpretaciones, algunas excepcionales y otras recurrentes a lo largo de los tiempos. En el presente estudio se practica un ex- haustivo repaso a la evolución formal y simbólica de la tau desde la escritura hebraica hasta el cristianismo bajomedieval. En él se encierran y cruzan distintas interpretacio- nes que funden lo celeste con lo terreno o lo divino con lo humano, entre otras dadas. adquiere, en ocasiones, un sentido y una fuerza terapéutica que ha sido transmitida culturalmente a lo largo de los siglos.

    the cross is one of the most ancient emblems, signs or symbols of scrip- tural language. through the ages it has had different interpretations, some that are ex- ceptional and others that are recurrent. the present work carries out a comprehensive review of the formal and symbolic evolution of the tau cross from Hebraic scripture to christianity in the middle ages. this cross contains and exchanges different inter- pretations that mix the heavenly and the earthly or the divine and the human, among others. on occasions, it acquires a therapeutic sense and strength that has been trans- mitted culturally throughout the centuries.
