    La Sociedad Internacional de Criminología, organismo acreditado ante las Naciones Unidas, celebró en el 2008 en la ciudad de Barcelona su XV Congreso Mundial de Criminología bajo la tutela de su presidente Tony Peters. Este año, dos importantes universidades catalanas, la Universidad de Barcelona, Universitat Ramon Llull, ambos con una larga tradición en la enseñanza y la investigación en criminología, ponen sus recursos intelectuales, los recursos humanos y materiales a disposición de la Sociedad Internacional de Criminología que, a su vez, podría juntos casi un millar de participantes en representación de 60 países. Se presenta en este trabajo lo mejor de las ideas expuestas dentro del Congreso, todas ellas muy inquietantes e interesantes.

    The International Society of Criminology, body accredited to the United Nations, held it’s 15th World Congress of Criminology under the tutelage of it’s President Tony Peters in 2008 in the city of Barcelona. This year, two important Catalan universities, Universidad de Barcelona, Universitat Ramon Llull, both with a long tradition in education and research in Criminology, put their intellectual resources, the human and material resources at the disposal of the international society of Criminology, which in turn, could together nearly a thousand participants representing 60 countries. It is presented in this work, the best of the ideas put forward in Congress, all of them very interesting and disturbing.
