THE world's first privately owned, 24-hour animal airport terminal and quarantine centre is being built at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The company behind the project, Ark Development, says the terminal, to be known as The Ark, will establish the ‘gold standard’ in animal transportation, handling and veterinary services, and will provide veterinary and ancillary travel services for pets, horses, birds, livestock and exotic animals ‘in a seamless fashion that is more efficient, safe and significantly reduces stress on animals’.
