Bovine TB: European endorsement for the UK's TB eradication programme

  • THE European Commission has endorsed the UK's TB eradication programme for 2015, meaning that Europe will provide further financial support for the programme. Defra says that this shows the Government's TB strategy is ‘recognised to be comprehensive and effective’.

    In other TB-related measures, Defra has published a biosecurity action plan setting out plans to help farmers reduce the risk of bovine TB spread on their farms. It has also announced a new service to give bespoke veterinary advice on TB management to farmers in the areas where badgers are being culled.
