Resumen de Socialización y alfabetización de adultos en Castilla y León (1939-1975)

La particular situación social, cultural, política y económica de Castilla y León durante el franquismo nos permite hablar de un modelo ciertamente diverso y distinguido en lo que se refiere a la construcción de la socialización adulta. Así, analizamos en el artículo el «estatus» oficial y oficioso mantenido por este territorio en relación a la culturización adulta a través de dos focos de atención. El primero se refiere al modelo formal de instrucción adulta, asumido a nivel nacional y adaptado en lo local. En este sentido, destacamos las diferentes acciones de alfabetización desarrolladas en nuestra región, distinguiendo tanto indicadores estructurales como pedagógicos, todos ellos interpretados en base a sus espacios de acción, contenidos curriculares y protagonistas. En un segundo momento, recurrimos al estudio de las estrategias de promoción y extensión cultural para, por un lado, desenmascarar los fines encubiertos de las iniciativas del régimen y, por otro, conocer la aplicación de estas en el desarrollo de la socialización del adulto más allá de mera e insuficiente alfabetización.

The particular social, cultural, political and economical situation in Castilla y León during the age of Franco’s government, gives us the opportunity to talk about a truly diverse and prominent model regarding the adult’s sociability. Thus, in this article we analyse the official status kept by this territory regarding the adult education by two ways. The first one is related to the formal model of adult instruction, assumed at a national level and adapted in the local one. In this way, we highlight the different actions of literacy developed in our region, making a distinction between structural and pedagogical indicators, and explaining them by their action spaces, curricular and main contents. In a second stage, we turn to study the promotion and cultural extension strategies to, on the one hand, unmask the hidden purposes of the regime’s initiatives and, on the other hand, know their application in the adult sociability development beyond the simple and insufficient literacy.
