En este artículo abordamos la mirada que algunos actores del movimiento revolucionario rioplatense tenían acerca del “otro indígena” durante los primeros años dela Revoluciónde Mayo. Buscamos identificar a los grupos indígenas que los dirigentes revolucionarios conocían y reconocían como tales y esbozar una caracterización de las diversas percepciones que tuvieron acerca de ellos.
In this article, we discuss the way some members of the revolutionary movement in Río dela Plataviewed the “indigenous other” during the first years of the so-called May Revolution. The main aim is to identify those indigenous groups, which the revolutionary leaders knew about and acknowledged as such, as well as to draw a descriptive outline regarding the different ways in which these groups were considered.
