Crisis del modelo económico, revisión del estado social: la sociedad cooperativa como protagonista de la llamada “Reestructuración socialmente inteligente” en la Unión Europea y su proyección hacia perspectivas más amplias de ordenación económica y social

    Estamos asistiendo, en palabras del Comité Económico y Social Europeo, “a una reestructuración a gran escala como consecuencia de la crisis en la economía europea. Las estrategias de reestructuración socialmente responsables son una condición esencial para evitar más quiebras y cierres de empresas, mantener y crear empleo y organizar el bienestar social mediante el impulso de la competitividad y el desarrollo local”. (Dictamen del Comité Económico y Social Europeo sobre el tema «Cooperativas y reestructuración» (dictamen de iniciativa) (2012/C 91/05): eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:C:2012:191:0024:0029:ES:PDF). Ante una recesión económica que no tiene fin, las sociedades cooperativas están llamadas a desarrollar un papel activo como protagonistas de procesos de reestructuración y recuperación empresarial y social. En esta ponencia se tratará esta posibilidad mediante el modelo cooperativo y en consonancia a los principios de una “reestructuración socialmente inteligente” determinados en el Dictamen del Comité Económico y Social Europeo sobre el tema «Cooperativas y reestructuración».

    According to the European Economic and Social Committee: “We are witnessing a large-scale restructuring as a consequence of the crisis in the European economy. Socially responsible restructuring strategies are essential in order to avoid additional enterprise closures and failures, to preserve and create employment and organize social welfare by boosting competitiveness and local development.” (Opinion of the European Economic and Social Committee on “Cooperatives and restructuring”, (2012/C 91/05):eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:C:2012:191:0024:0029:ES:PDF) In view of an endless economic recession, co-operative societies can play a key role in the entrepreneurial and social recovery and restructuring. This paper shows that this is likely to happen if we create a cooperative model in accordance with the principles of the socially intelligent restructuring processes proposed by the European Economic and Social Committee on «Cooperatives and Restructuring».
