  • WE would like to highlight an important issue to vets regarding changes made to the authorised Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) of veterinary medicinal products. Changes can be made for a number of reasons, most commonly as a result of pharmacovigilance data or new data generated by the marketing authorisation holder (MAH).

    When changes are made, the updated version of the SPC will be available immediately from the VMD's product information database (PID) (www.vmd.defra.gov.uk/ProductInformationDatabase/). The nature of the change will be recorded in the post-authorisation assessment document, also available on the PID....
