  • Sean Wensley, the BVA President, comments: I thank Kirsty Turrell or flagging up this very important issue and I want to assure her that it is one of our priority issues. As we outlined in the BVA News article, one of our 10 policy priorities for the year is ‘Veterinary workforce issues and career support’, and recruitment issues are included in that priority. In the interests of space in the article we couldn't explain every priority area in great detail, but we know both from our own Voice of the Veterinary Profession survey and the additional findings from SPVS that recruitment is an enormous issue for practices. We are looking at how BVA and Vet Record Careers can work better together to advise both job seekers and recruiters, and we are using our member surveys and feedback to inform the support and advice that we give around careers, again to both employees and employers.
