The choir stalls in the cathedral of León (ca. 1463-1481) is the first of a large number of them known as the northern group, including these of Oviedo, Zamora, Astorga aswell as the more recent of San Marcos of León. The double Creed is represented in al1 of them according to the Creed. Considering the gothic world it is possible to think in Nicolás Francés as the artist the antroducer the subjet in Spain as the uses it in the altarpiece of León's cathedral. The double Creed has a long tradition in Europe, but is also know in Spain before the XVth. century, as it can be seen in the choir stalls of Maestro Mateo in Santiago de Compostela (1 188-121 l) and the facade of the cathedral at Tarragona (XIVth. Century).
