    Le Corbusier es el primer y el referente directo de Rogelio Salmona, pues colaboró en una de las etapas más fértiles y productivas del atelier: el tiempo de la unité d’habitatión de Marsella, Ronchamps, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad. Abordó desde los problemas de la habitación hasta los de la arquitectura monumental, incluidos los urbanos. Con Le Corbusier aprendió a repensar la ciudad y las implicaciones sociales del urbanismo, la responsabilidad en su evolución y la importancia del papel de la arquitectura como configuradora del espacio público. También aprendió a disentir de las teorías y postulados modernos y con ello investigó y elaboró una obra que buscaba la esencia de la arquitectura.

    Le Corbusier was Rogelio Salmona’s first and direct mentor when he contributed to one of the most fertile and productive stages of the workshop’s history: during the time of the unité d’habitatión in Marseilles, the Ronchamps, the Chandigarh, and the Ahmedabad. Salmona dealt with topics ranging from housing to monumental architecture, including urban scale problems. With Le Corbusier he learned to rethink the city and the social implications of town planning, the responsibility for its development, and the important role of architecture in the shaping of public space. He also learned to disagree with modern theories and hypothesis and thus produced a work that aimed to seek the very essence of architecture.
