Throughout the centuries, the allegory of evil and its theological contradictions have been examined in Europe. For some philosophers, the demon is a sign of the divine mercy, while others see the very same evil as a proof for the non-existence of God. Far from reaching a consensus, theology and philosophy have ignored the economic role of the evil, considered as a regulator of economy. The evil, taken as an archetype, fixes the material asymmetries produced by the system. From an antropological point of view, the allegory of the evil represents our deepest fear, namely the death of our offspring.
