One of the basic works in the beginning of Spanish romanesque style is the Castilian monastery of San Pedro de Arlanza church, very little known nowadays as a consequence of a centenarian period of absolute neglect. The detailed study of its process of ruin, from several graphic testimonies and artistic bibliography data of 19th and early 20th century, allows a more correct reconstruction of the original building, which gives the image of a basically romanesque church, despite the late gothic repairs, which replaced the main part of the cover system.
