The postembryonic development of Nevadanema nevadense is studied on the base of 34 specimens covering the four juvenile stages of the species. These stages are described in detail, with morphometric data and LM pictures of their anterior and caudal regions. The results obtained reveal significant changes in the morphology of lip region, odontostyle and guiding ring, which are reported for the first time; besides, the two fust juvenile stages (J1 & J2) differ from the last ones (J3 & 14) and the adults in the morphology of their caudal region. These findings suggest that the postembryonic development of dorylaims is more complex and diverse than previously reported. Ontogenetic changes herein observed may be useful for interpreting the phylogeny and for elucidating the taxonomy of the group, traditionally based on the study of adult forms.
